Meditation is a state of consciousness and being that has been within the human capacity throughout history. By different names and in different ways, it has been accessed by healers throughout cultures, religions, and traditions. Mindfulness is a purposeful cultivation of awareness that is seen in neuroscience as a means through which the mind can change the brain and body. We will enter through the language of modern science and then ground in our personal and timeless experience of being. This workshop will include: presentation, conversation, some gentle yoga, formal seated meditation, and a “deep dive” theta style meditation. For those experienced in meditation AND those interested in trying it for the first time, this workshop is designed to be both comfortable and expansive. Tea and snacks will also be provided, plus time to talk and connect with community.
